During the day, these energy-efficient Atlantic Solars™ lights harness sunlight energy to charge their internal Lithium Battery. At night they automatically turn on, emitting a bright glow for your fence post line.
Each Atlantic Solars™ light is made of Premium Heat-Resistant Plastic for years of use. With our Newest & Improved Solar Panels, a 3.2V Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery, and 5 Ultra Bright White LEDs, its output is virtually unparalleled. The screws supplied were to small and slipped thru the base. I had to use the old screws from old units. Also the instructions say to change from off to on, but there is no lever. How do you change from off to on or is it shipped in on position. I just installed today and will have to wait to advise of any other problems. That said, they look great on my deck.
Answer:
* Screws should be tightened 1/4 turn after snugged tight
* On/Off switch feature is replaced with pulling tab one in order to activate the battery (preventing the possible switch corrosion in future usage especially rainy, wet weather conditions). These notes are found in instruction manuals.

After 3 days of installation & operation, the product has met our expectations. The instructions, however, don't mention the need to caulk between the base and the post to prevent insects entering thru gaps in the installation. After 3 days, I discovered 2 spiders setting up nests (in 10 posts) as I removed the bases to caulk the gaps. Also, there were no instructions as to how to clean the caps - primarily the solar sensors.
* Periodically, Kerosene will do the job (no acetone in formulas)

Ordered 2 pack to see if they fit size and color for new deck with TimberTech railing system. The rail posts were 4-1/8" but the light base was 4-1/16. We used a small 2x4 piece to insert into the post top & attached the light without the base to the top of the post. Nice clean fit and look. We ordered 48 more lights for the rest of the posts with the 600mah batteries. The lights come on at dusk and stay on all night. They look great coming across the water at night.

I'm really unhappy with the lights.
The first night all stayed on until 5am in the morning, a great performance. Second night 1 did not switch on at all, was replaced pretty quickly after contacting the seller. Replacement worked first night. But since then only 2 or 3 stay on for more than 3 hours, all others switch off after 2-3 hours - I have a total of 6.
And it's not the batteries/charging, those are still full at that time when they switch off. When I open the case and move the battery they switch on again - but eventually switch off again after 5 to 30 min.
And it's not the same lights either! A light that works one night might switch off early the next night!
It seems to me the batteries don't keep consistent contact.
At first I thought it's just too much wiggle room, so I tried to affix the batteries inside the compartment. But that did not solve it either.
So I can only conclude the electronics themselves are faulty and don't draw power consistently from the batteries.
Asking to return them but have not yet received a RMA number.

As someone noted before, getting the top of the light on the base was VERY hard. Only way I was able to do it was to take the upper light assembly off then unscrew the reflector. At that point it was easy to align the slots and put on the upper assembly. Then re-attach reflector to housing and then put top on.

My four new post lights are replacements for the set that lasted well for three years. I probably could have squeezed another year out of them, but I'm glad I ordered the new ones. They look so fresh and the Amber glow is much more luminous. I love that you offer that upgrade. the Amber light is much more subtle and warm than the white. I recommend the frosted lens, although the textured copper isn't worth the upgrade. It is virtually as smooth as the default copper surface of my former set. My only complaint is the difficulty in attaching the light to the post bracket. I struggled for several minutes on each trying to find the correct alignment. In fact I finally gave up on the last one and will try again this morning. I hope the designers will improve on this feature before my next replacement three years from now?

I purchased 12 of these lights along with 12 additional batteries. I just today installed the lights. It took me over an hour to install the 12 lights. The mounting plate with screws, no problem, however, the problem comes with mounting the light assembly to the plate. You try to follow the directions but it takes entirely too long to mount because you have to try to align the holes and it is not easy. The ones I replaced had screws that mounted on the side of the base and they were a lot easier to install. I broke off several of the clips on the bases. I think it is a poor design. I don't know what the lights will look like until the batteries charge.
*Solution:
Watch for the longest slot which goes with the longest clip, the other two clips will fall into their slot mates accordingly.

These lights were more than I expected. Great look. Perfect fit. Good lighting with the 5 led bulbs per light. Nice experience! I,ve already recommended Atlantic Solars to friends!
